Helping Hands

The Helping Hands ministry goes to the homes of single, widowed, and older church members to help them with minor repairs or similar activities. Examples of assistance we provide are cleaning gutters, putting in a new dispostal, etc. This service is primarily for Church Members, but if there is a true need in the community, you may request this service. Contact the Church Office if you are interested in helping or need assistance.

McQueeney Breakfast Club

McQueeney Baptist Church volunteers make a breakfast for the faculty and staff of McQueeney Elementary School. If you would like to get involved, please contact Dot Rich (in the Ladies Sunday school class).

Meal on Wheels

Time: Every Thursday @ 9 a.m.

Members of this group meet at the Fellowship Hall where they cook a meal and deliver the meals to members of our church who are home bound or in need of food. For more information, you may contact Dot Rich at 210-659-1283.

Prayer Shawl Ministry

Time: We meet to stitch and plan each month on the second Saturday @ 1:00pm in the Youth Room.
Purpose of the Prayer Shawl Ministry:
Our goal is to provide these comforting tokens of love to those who are critically ill or bereaved as a reminder that God’s love surrounds them.
How We Operate and How You Can Be Involved:
  •     You don’t have to know how to knit or crochet.
    •     If you want to learn, we will teach you.
  •     We are open to providing other tokens of love. Lap Quilts or stocking caps are just two examples.
    •     What ideas for such gifts do you have?
  •     If you aren’t able to meet, call us and we’ll pick up your shawls or lap robes.
  •     The most important aspect of this ministry is prayer.
    •     Prayer doesn’t require physical strength or know-how, just a desire of the heart.
