Awana
For nearly 60 years, Awana has been a leader in children's ministry, helping churches and parents worldwide raise children and youth to know, love, and serve Christ. The founders of Awana derived the Awana name from the first letters of Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed as taken from 2 Timothy 2:15 of the Bible.
Awana meets every Wednesday during the school year at 6:20 p.m. at McQueeney Baptist Church. The first half hour students in Sparks and T&T go to Handbook Time where students recite their Bible verses; the second and third half hour is rotated between Game Time and Council / Mission Time. The different age groups are as follows:

We may have Crazy Sock night, Backwards Night, Grand Prix, etc. For participating in the special nights, students earn "Bucks" which can be spent twice a year at the Awana Store. At the end of the Awana year we have our annual Award Night where students are recognized for their achievements throughout the year.
